Ann has over 25 years of experience in the business continuity and emergency management fields. Ann has held leadership positions in federal, state, local (city/county) and private arenas. Ann most recently served as the Operations Manager for Business Continuity and Emergency Management for PGE in Portland, Oregon and managed multiple emergencies for the company. While at PGE Ann developed, implemented and trained the Incident Command System (ICS) across the enterprise and adapted FEMA training materials specifically for use in the utility industry (electric and gas). Ann served as the Co-Chair of the Western Regional Mutual Assistance Group (WRMAG) and on the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) Mutual Assistance National Response Event (NRE) Coordination Group.
Ann is a certified instructor in the Incident Command System (ICS), Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP), Continuity of Operations (COOP), and is trained in Multi-Agency Coordination Group (MACG) and All Hazard Incident Management Teams (AHIMT) as a certified Planning, Logistics and Public Information Officer.
Ann holds a Master Business Continuity Professional (MBCP) – Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI); Master Business Continuity Practitioner (MBCP) – Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); Master Exercise Practitioner (MEP) (FEMA).
Ann is a lead consultant in the Utility Industry and has designed and conducted Executive Facilitated Discussion courses to strengthen policy and whole community concepts for emergency response. Ann has also adapted the FEMA 300/400/402 courses specifically for utilities to make the information more relatable to that industry.
Prior to PGE, Ann served for seven years as a Regional Coordinator in the US Department of Health and Human Services (US HHS) Hospital Preparedness Program. While in this position Ann was one of the contributors to the US HHS’s May 2009 Healthcare Coalitions Handbook. Ann also served as an evaluator for US HHS during an assessment of the national program.
