Bill Beebe served 34 years in State and Local service with the States of Arkansas and Alaska and the County of Izard in Arkansas. His career involved firefighting, law enforcement, unit management and emergency management. Bill retired as the Regional Fire Management Officer for the Coastal Region of the Alaska Division of Forestry, then served two years as the Director of the Office of Emergency Management for Izard County, Arkansas. Bill is experienced in the practical application of the National Incident Management System and the Incident Command System. He served 27 years as an Agency Administrator managing field units in resource management, law enforcement and fire suppression activities. His practical experience in ICS spans 38 years and involves serving as Unit Leader, Planning Section Chief, Public Information Officer and Incident Commander (All Risk). Bill served as the Lead PIO for the Alaska Interagency Incident Management Team (Type 1) and as the PIO for National Area Command Team 3.
Bill has served on the Boards of Directors for both non-profit and for profit corporations. He served as the only non-native member on the Board of Directors of a native owned electrical corporation in McGrath, Alaska. He served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Four Rivers Counseling Service, a mental health and substance abuse service serving 20+ native villages in southwest Alaska. He served as the President of the Board of Directors for the Alaska Judo, Inc., the state governing body for Olympic Judo in Alaska.
Bill is an instructor for I-100, I-200, I-300, I-400, Basic Information Officer and all the EMI position courses. He is certified to Instruct NWCG Position Courses and the EMI AHIMT course. Bill's expertise is in organizational development and management, and public and media relations. He is a member (or past member) of the National Wildfire Suppression Association, Society of American Foresters, AHIMT Association and the National Emergency Management Association.
Special Assignments
Bill has an Associates of Science with a major in Math from Phillips County Community College and a Bachelor’s of Science in Forestry from the University of Arkansas. He is also a graduate of the Arkansas Law Enforcement Training Academy.
